Aaron Tveit Reflects on a Musical Life

Aaron Tveit has made an illustrious career out of playing unforgettable leading roles in modern Broadway musicals: from Gabe in “Next to Normal” and Frank Abagnale in the musical version of “Catch Me If You Can” to the star-crossed, lover lead of Christian in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical.” Now, Aaron Tveit is taking his musical chops to the small screen in the APPLE TV+ musical comedy series “Schmigadoon!” where he plays a local bad boy Danny Bailey. Speaking of bad boys, keep an eye out for him in Ryan Murphy’s next installment of his anthology series “American Horror Stories.”

No doubt Aaron will be singing a whole different sort of tune in that gruesome show.

“Actually, being on Broadway almost becomes like an act of conditioning because you have to do eight shows a week and it’s much different from shooting a television show or a movie, where it’s kind of one and done. You have to do the same thing almost every night and a big part of your job is recovering from the night before, as well as getting back up on stage. That sounds mundane, but I think it’s a great part of being a theater person; you kind of feel like you’re in this company of actors getting through this thing every night and still putting on a high level of production.” -Aaron Tveit
